Chapter One

The Marine Corps

The Marine Corps taught me things no classroom could: discipline, accountability, calm under pressure, and the habit of doing what you say you’ll do. It also taught me that a small team with clear standards and real leadership can outperform a much bigger one. Every small business owner I meet is running that exact experiment, usually without the playbook.

Chapter Two

Liberty Reef: zero to exit

I founded Liberty Reef from scratch and grew it into a business generating millions in revenue before selling it. Building it taught me what entrepreneurship actually is: not the highlight reel, the whole thing.

Hiring my first employee and worrying about making payroll. Marketing on a shoestring. Managing inventory, cash flow, and customer service in the same afternoon. Fixing what broke at 6 a.m. and answering emails at midnight. Learning to lead people, price work, and make decisions with imperfect information.

When I sit across the table from a business owner, I’m not guessing what their life is like. I’ve lived it, right up to the day I handed over the keys.

From scratchFounded with no outside capital, no safety net
Millions in revenueGrown through operations, marketing, and grit

Chapter Three

Microsoft: the leading edge of AI, every day

Today I’m a Senior AI Solutions Engineer at Microsoft, helping some of the world’s largest organizations adopt artificial intelligence, automation, and modern technology. The field changes almost daily. My job is to stay ahead of it, separate what’s real from what’s hype, and turn it into practical solutions for real business problems.

Enterprise companies pay entire teams to do this thinking. Through McNatt Ventures, small business owners get the same thinking, translated for a company with five, ten, or twenty employees, and focused only on what actually pays off.

Technology & AI
What I Believe

The principles behind every deal and every engagement.

Clarity over buzzwords

If I can’t explain it in plain English, I don’t understand it well enough to charge you for it.

Technology serves the business

AI is not the product. A better business is the product. Every tool has to earn its keep.

Skin in the game

I’ve built, owned, and sold. I give advice I’d bet my own money on. Often I do.

People first

Employees, customers, and community outlast any transaction. Deals should honor all three.

Freedom is the goal

A great business creates freedom for its owner, not just more work with a bigger number on it.

Say the hard thing

If something isn’t working, or I’m not the right fit, you’ll hear it from me first, kindly and directly.
